Dear (hopeful) First Time Home Buyer

Dear (Hopeful) First Time Home Buyer

Dear (hopeful) First time home buyer,

I know this process seems really overwhelming right now.  You don’t know where to start, you don’t know who to call. But you want to finally call yourself a home owner so badly.

You want to be able to paint your walls, and start traditions. You want to come home to a place that is yours, and you want your people to help make it your home with movie nights, game nights, bbq’s, and new regular plans. You want a safe place. You want your place.

I get it.

I’ve been there.

But you’re scared, or maybe just plain lost. You don’t know where to start, and it feels like everyone else knows how to do these things but somehow you didn’t get the memo or missed class that day. Sometimes asking the questions seems too overwhelming and you don’t know who to address them to anyway.

I get it.

I’ve been there.

My first house I couldn’t use a real estate agent (for a long list of reasons). I actually was a real estate agent (just not an active one) and I had worked as an assistant to a top producing real estate agent for 6 years. And I found myself hating every step of the process. I didn’t know as much as I thought, and I hated having to deal directly with everyone myself. It was stressful. It was terrifying. And it wasn’t until the day of closing and until I signed my paperwork that I felt like I could breathe again. I didn’t even take the day off to celebrate and go to the house. I scheduled the first appointment at the attorney’s office and went back to work where my boss promptly tried to make me take the day off so I could enjoy it. That’s how stressful it can be to buy your first home. This was my first purchase after a divorce, after rebuilding my life and rediscovering who I was and it was such a beautiful and special property but I couldn’t even get excited about it because of the anxiety of the process.

I want your experience to be so radically different. I can’t promise that it will be stress free but I can promise you our team can help you navigate it from beginning to end. Even if you’re not ready to actually buy now, we’re here for you. Let’s talk about it so you can get ready for your closing day whenever it comes. Have questions about down payments? Or closing costs? Lenders? Our team is here to talk.

Can’t wait to hear from you

Sincerely,

Lisa
