What is happening right now?

I’m not gonna tell you I have all the answers.

I don’t.

I don’t know when interest rates are going to drop. I don’t know what is going to happen with the government shut down. I don’t know if we’ll be more at war or less at war. I don’t know what the market is going to be like in a week, or a month, or a year from now. Are prices going to drop? Possibly. But when covid hit and the shutdown happened, we thought that the housing market was going to crash. Instead, interest rates dropped to previously unknown levels and prices soared. 

The reality is none of us know. And everything has changed. 

Sometimes there are predictable, historical patterns that hold true. But currently many of the patterns we saw and relied on are not holding true across the majority. Two similar houses at the same price can go on the market the same day and one may go under contract immediately and the other may take 4 months, despite numerous price drops. And price reductions aren’t any guarantee of a property selling any faster.

Listen, I’m taking all the classes I can, reading all the reports, and doing whatever I can to get my listings sold and keep y’all updated.

But at the end of the day, the only thing we can control is how we act and react. So in times of uncertainty it’s good to connect back to the root of who you are to keep yourself centered.

So this week I’ve been focusing on what I can control. 

-Researching new ways to promote my clients property, being steady on the follow ups, and creating new content for my listings

-Spending time being physically active every day (spoiler alert: I bought roller blades)

– Going back over my budget to tighten it up for a personal fiscal fast (no, I don’t need prime day updates)

– Breathing exercise for anxiety and stress

-Decluttering my house and donating anything I don’t love or need
